We’ve been talking about the upcoming Wicked movie for what feels like forever, counting down to its long-awaited release and enjoying the countless beauty collabs inspired by the film, not to mention the many manicures! And now, with Friday, November 22, finally around the corner, every new teaser feels like a gift. Fortunately for us, we recently got a new sneak peek. Ariana Grande, our soon-to-be Glinda, shared an Instagram Reel of behind-the-scenes beauty moments, talking about the process of transforming into her character and how it’s changed her own approach to beauty.

“Glinda’s makeup kinda made me transform my entire look and my entire relationship to makeup,” Grande told the camera while getting her hair done ahead of filming. “I just love it so much. Love, love, love.”

Though Grande is known (or at least, used to be!) for her signature bold glamour, it seems Glinda’s beauty aesthetic has inspired her to embrace a softer look. “There’s no, like, thick eyeliner. There’s no, like, heavy crease. It’s just, like, really warm and open and pretty and, you know, the lashes are in, like, a cat shape, which still gives you the, like, cat eye lift that I usually love, but it’s also just a more honest representation of what you look like,” she explained.

Grande also walked viewers through the process of having her tattoos concealed by her glam team. “I have to cover quite a bit. My hands are pretty covered and behind my ears there’s a lot,” she said, referencing her tattoo collection. “It depends on the costume,” she added, “because sometimes I wear gloves and stuff.” We’re sure that saves some serious time in the makeup chair.
