Known for its wrinkle-fighting power retinol gets an added boost of skin soothers in two new anti-aging creams from Jan Marini Skin Research. Age Intervention Retinol Plus MD, with a 1 percent concentration of retinol, is available exclusively through physicians, and the less-concentrated Age Intervention Retinol Plus with .5 percent retinol is available to licensed skin-care professionals, physicians and consumers.
There are other retinol products on the market so what makes these special? Anyone who has used high-concentration retinol products knows they can cause sensitivity and dryness. These new products combine the anti-aging benefits of retinol with peptides, antioxidants and hydrators like hyaluronic acid to soothe skin as the retinol goes to work. In a 12-week study, 95 percent of the subjects using Retinol Plus MD reported improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and 100 percent said they had better skin texture.
“As someone who is sensitive to both retinol and prescription retinoids, I was impressed by both the usability and rapid skin rejuvenation,” said Scottsdale, AZ, facial plastic surgeon, Kelly Bomer, MD, who was overseeing one of the study center locations. “This product is remarkable for transforming the skin into a more vibrant, youthful state; appearing more radiant and supple with reduced appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores.”
