When you think of Andie MacDowell, what comes to mind? Her iconic acting roles? Her gorgeous silver hair? For us, it’s her effortless beauty, which the 66-year-old actress has confidently embraced through the years. But as she revealed in a recent interview with Who What Wear, there’s one part of her beauty routine she never skips—even if she’s just running errands: doing her eyebrows.
“I love to do my eyebrows,” she told the outlet. “Even if I go to the grocery store, I would do my eyebrows. I don’t care about anything else. It changes how you look completely. You can look put together just by doing your eyebrows.”
What “doing her brows” entails? “As you age, you lose them,” MacDowell explained, “so I really like to fill them in. Mine can get a bit unruly—they have a kink in them—so I have to make sure that they stay in place.”
MacDowell has been a spokeswoman for L’Oréal Paris since the ’80s, and she’s remained a devoted fan of the drugstore brand. These days, she swears by its Brow Stylist Definer Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil ($9), which she said is “just as good, if not better, as the super-expensive ones.”
For a quick mid-day brow refresh, MacDowell reaches for the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Up to 24h Brow Lamination ($11). True to its name, it keeps her brows perfectly in place. “I work long hours, and we work really fast on the TV show that I’m doing, and in the photographs, I would catch my eyebrows [sloping] down,” she explained. “We had done everything—we’d painted them in, tried some product—and then when we got this product, they didn’t move. That’s my newest addition.”
