With 18 million followers and counting, model and entrepreneur Abbie Herbert is a bona fide social-media superstar who just casually added skin-care founder (her line Pavot is dedicated to fixing razor burn and dehydrated skin) and podcaster (she hosts “Who Wears the Pants” with her husband) to her resume. We recently caught up with Herbert to give us a look at her life beyond TikTok.
You are currently pregnant. How have you changed up your overall beauty routine during this time?
With being pregnant, I have to be mindful of each product and the ingredients. I consulted with my doctor and we went over ingredients I should try to avoid during my pregnancy. I put the retinol cream and chemical-based sunscreen away and brought out the vitamin C serum and mineral-based SPF.
Any skin-care items you consider holy grails?
My holy grail is the TULA Skincare Beauty Sleep Overnight Skin Repair Treatment. It leaves my skin refreshed and hydrated!
Any self-care rituals you like to do after a long day?
My self-care ritual after a long day is lighting my favorite candle and taking a bubble bath. After soaking, I do my nightly skincare and body care routine.
What is one thing people might be surprised to hear about you?
People might be surprised to hear that I went through severe cystic acne a few years ago after being diagnosed with PCOS. Before that, I knew nothing about skin care. I worked for two years straight with my aesthetician to get my skin to where it is today. I found my love for skin care during my acne journey.
You have your own line. What is the one “dream” product you hope to create?
I’ve loved the process of building a brand and working to create products that are clean, eco-conscious and beneficial for the consumer. I don’t have a dream product per se, my goal is just to continue to make good, quality products that are inclusive for all.
