One of our favorite leading ladies, Olivia Colman, 46, is always a charmer on the red carpet, but at tonight’s Oscars celebration, she’s turning heads for another reason: her new hair! We love the icy blond chop, and paired with emerald earrings, a navy velvet dress and fresh makeup, it makes for a very regal look. To find out more about Colman’s stunning glow—especially that pop of pink on her lips—we tapped her Oscars makeup artist, Sarah Uslan.

“Olivia’s look was inspired by her gorgeous Stella McCartney dress,” says Uslan, who created Colman’s entire look with No7 products, “which are not only beautiful, but also accessible and affordable.”

“The smoky eye palette complemented the deep-blue velvet and light blue satin lining in the dress. I decided to stay with the cool tones in the No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow Palette–Smoky ($15). I first applied the silvery-gray shade second from the left over her lid and then added the No7 Stay Perfect Eye Pencil in Deep Blue ($9) to line her eyes in a cat-eye shape. Then using the deep-blue color from the far right of the palette, I shaded in from the outside corner of her eye and smoked out her liner and used the color third from the left to shade in the crease of her eyelids. I used the bone shade under her brow bone and to blend the crease shadow up. To add drama to her eyes, I layered coats of the No7 The Full 360 Mascara in Black ($10).”

To balance the dramatic eye, Uslan chose a “pretty pink pout,” which she said Colman’s “super fun new bleached hair color” called for. “After playing with a few beautiful shades, I chose the No7 Moisture Drench Lip Stick in Pink Hint ($13). While I do have many lip palettes in my kit, I love to have the actual lipsticks in my kit so I can just give them to my client if they are heading to a red carpet. I therefore have an entire bag of just lips!”

Affordability certainly helps make this look easier to pull off at home, but Uslan says the biggest tip to DIY makeup like this is great skin. “Make sure your skin looks good. With the right skin-care prep, a bright lip or smoky eye will look even better. For Olivia, I used the No7 Early Defense Regimen, from the serum to the moisturizer.”
