Mascara is one of those makeup products that is simple yet valuable to wear every day. Just a few swipes and your eyes instantly appear bigger and brighter.
With that being said, it can be hard to find the right mascara to give you these effects you crave. Which is why it can feel like we’re always on the hunt for a better one. We have good news, that search might be over.

Reddit user EllieDaisyLouise shared a photo of what looked like a before and after image of false lash application in the thread MakeupAddiction. She revealed this dramatic difference wasn’t thanks to falsies, but was the result of affordable drugstore mascara Essence Lash Princess False Lash Mascara ($5).
Can’t believe this mascara was only £3.30! Sorry for the shocking picture quality but this is the Essence Lash Princess mascara and I HIGHLY recommend it. from MakeupAddiction
Her right eye is seen bare without anything on the shorter lashes. Then there’s her left eye, which has lashes miles long. Okay maybe not miles but they are shockingly lengthier, not to mention voluptuous.
When one commenter asked how she achieved this, EllieDaisyLouise explained that she applied two coats and used a eyelash curler in between. “I always make sure my lashes are COMPLETELY dry and I curl very slowly and carefully and release very slowly and carefully,” she wrote.
Other users commented with support and excitement. “Wow that’s impressive! I need to try it :),” said beautyandwine1. Toastedtoperfection wrote, “YES I get this from Wilko and it’s the best mascara I’ve ever used in my life!”
So there you have it, you don’t need falsies for a falsie lash effect.
