2024 was Sabrina Carpenter’s year—from her TikTok-dominating Short n’ Sweet tour to her six Grammy nominations—and the small but mighty pop singer is in her element. Every time Carpenter takes to the stage or the carpet, we’re in awe. But her 2024 VMAs look was inarguably a favorite, as her sky-high blowout channeled Old Hollywood while her two-toned lip and snow-white nails made for a modern style.

Another pop princess making waves in the music industry is Missouri native Chappell Roan, who has grown to mass stardom over the past 365 days. Roan’s appearance at the VMAs marked her first performance at the iconic award show.
