Wicked’s official release is finally right around the corner. It feels like we’ve been teased with trailers, beauty collaborations and celebrity interviews forever, but now, the moment is almost here. The film officially comes out next week, on Friday, November 22 and kicking off the excitement was the Los Angeles premiere, which brought out stars like the movie’s leads, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande and even the original Broadway legends Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, along with countless other A-listers. While their outfits were obsession-worthy (many fittingly themed in red or green), their nails truly stole the show (at least, in our slightly biased, beauty-loving opinion). Ahead, we’re sharing some of the most creative nail looks from the LA premiere.

Cynthia Erivo

Naturally, Cynthia Erivo, who stars as Elphaba in the highly anticipated Wicked film, went all out with super long, intricately detailed acrylics that looked like jewelry in their own right. “This set is truly magical!” said Mycah Dior, the creative mani mastermind behind the look. “I channeled Elphaba with different shades of green, including OPI x Wicked shades Ozitively Elphaba ($12) and Witch O’Clock ($12). These shades are topped with geometric lines for a chic ‘Art Deco’ vibe that’s both bold and enchanting.”

Idina Menzel

“For Idina’s nails, we always do a bold nail look for special events and this premiere was special,” said the Broadways star’s manicurist, Vanessa Sanchez. “Our goal was to create a nail that was symbolic of Wicked without being a direct color reference.” She used two coats of the OPI x Wicked Oh, For Oz Sake Nail Polish ($12) and then using a sponge, she “tapped Witch O’Clock along the cuticle line and down towards the middle of the nail. I then cut strips of silver holographic mylar and applied it over parts of the green area. I used some boba gel to cover this same area and with a silicon knife, I cut lines into the gel. Using the OPI top coat, I covered the whole nail and used a flat brush on the 3D area. These Enchanted Emerald nails are symbolic of the beautiful Emerald City from Wicked. The city had so much reflection and shine and so do Idina’s nails.”

Victoria Monet

Monet’s Wicked premiere outfit deserves a standing ovation. We’re eagerly awaiting fashion credits to find out the designer behind her pink, floral-embellished two-piece satin set, but in the meantime, we can’t get over the fact that her manicurist, Coca Michelle, perfectly matched her nails to her ensemble. She used OPI products to do so, namely shades from the OPI x Wicked Nail Polish Collection collection, of course.
