Last night’s CFDA Awards have everyone buzzing, thanks to a mix of epic beauty moments—some entirely DIY-able, others best left to a glam squad. One of our favorites was Nicole Richie’s skin prep by makeup artist Vincent Oquendo. Together, they turned to a celebrity-loved red light therapy tool, the Solawave Radiant Renewal Skincare Wand ($169)—and a few more of the brand’s skin-care products—to give Richie her radiant, red carpet-ready glow.
“For Nicole’s CFDA Awards look, I wanted her skin to look sun-kissed and luminous, almost like a sunset,” Oquendo said in a press statement. “Solawave was perfect to prep my client’s skin, so they look refreshed for the red carpet, especially when I’m using warm sunset-inspired makeup colors.”
And with that, the skin prep began. “I started Nicole’s skin prep by applying the Solawave LightBoost Activating Serum ($38), gently massaging in a few drops to hydrate and plump the skin,” Oquendo continued. “The activating properties of the serum made the skin extra ready for the galvanic current of the Solawave 4-in-1 Radiant Renewal Wand to smooth and depuff before makeup application.”
That’s not all. “Last, I used the Solawave LightBoost Eye Cream ($44) and dabbed a small amount around her eyes with my ring finger, followed by the Solawave Eye Recovery Mask ($199). This helped reduce puffiness and brightened the under-eye area.”
