Khloé Kardashian isn’t one to shy away from transparency. The 40-year-old reality star recently took to Snapchat to share the results of her experience getting filler injections to address an indentation in her cheek after having surgery to remove a precancerous melanoma in 2022.

“As a result of the surgery, and the tumor my incredible doctor removed, I ended up with an indentation in the side of my face,” Kardashian wrote on social media platform alongside photos of the indent before getting filler and after one round of injections, which made a visible impact. The images have since expired from Snapchat, but you can get a look at them here.

“I waited 9 months after surgery to get the indentation filled,” she continued, adding that she waited nearly a year to because “we had to make sure medically everything was safe and my doctor gave me the go ahead.”

This openness is nothing new for the Good American founder; she’s been transparent about her skin cancer journey from the very beginning. Kardashian first revealed that she had a tumor removed from her face in October 2022. “After noticing a small bump on my face and assuming it was something as minor as a zit, I decided to get it biopsied 7 months after realizing it was not budging,” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

“Dermatologist Dr. Tess Mauricio (@drtessmauricio) examined it, and a second biopsy was ran by Dr. Daniel Behroozan (@drdanbehroozan) because what they both were seeing was incredibly rare for someone my age.” She went on to note that she needed “immediate surgery,” and turned to “none other that Dr. Garth Fisher, a dear friend of my family’s and one of the best surgeons in Beverly Hills, who I knew would take incredible care of my face.”

At the time of the announcement, she also used the opportunity to stress the importance of regular skin checks, reminding her followers that melanoma doesn’t discriminate. “At 19 years old, I had melanoma on my back, and I had surgery to remove that as well, so I am pre-composed to melanomas,” she wrote. “Even those who are not, we should be checking all the time. I am someone who wears sunscreen every single day, religiously, so no one is exempt from these things.” While her latest post is a bit more understated, it still delivers that crucial precautionary message to her followers.
