She’s traveled the world and lived all over, so there’s something super refreshing about hearing Luann de Lesseps bubbling with excitement to visit a new town. “I’ve never been to Charleston and I’m going for the first time this week,” shares the Bravo favorite and The Real Housewives of New York City alum. “I can’t wait to check out the city and see the fans.” On the schedule: The Marry F Kill Cabaret Tour, which kicks off October 10, followed by A Very Countess Christmas, starting December 2. Before de Lesseps left New York, she chatted with us over the phone to share a very detailed lineup of what she’s packing for the road, her favorite products and what she plans to do when she gets there.
Congrats on the tour. How are you getting ready for that, mentally and physically?
I try to live in the moment. If I think about all the shows coming up, it’s very daunting. People look at my schedule and they are like, “Holy Toledo. How are you going to do that?” I don’t think that way. It’s show by show. My first show is in Charleston, and I’ve never been there. I’m really looking forward to discovering Charleston and connecting with the fans there. Every show is unique. I always say there could be 100 people in the room or a thousand, but it’s the same show.
That’s a great approach.
That’s how I roll. I also have to mentally prepare when I’m doing the shows for the network; I just finished filming something new called Love Hotel. But now it’s time to switch gears and get back on tour.
When you are on the road, how do you make sure you rest and get settled in at the hotel?
Listen, I am a big yoga fanatic and meditation. Meditation, for me, is a way of keeping myself grounded and centered and keeping peace of mind. And, of course, I have to sleep. It’s so important. A lot of people don’t realize how important sleep is! The secret for me is a lot of rest and exercise. I bring gym things with me to the hotel to work out. I actually rehearse on the treadmill!
It sounds like you have the travel part down. You also seem to have this beauty thing down. You always look amazing. What are some of your favorite products?
I get a lot of products. Peter Thomas Roth has been sending some things, and I’ve been using those. I do like to switch it up because I feel like with hair products and skin care, you need to change because your hair and gets used to it. It’s like eating the same food every day. You get tired of it. So does your hair and skin. The most important thing I use is a good scrub to get off the dead skin. It’s so important, because if you don’t scrub your skin twice a week, it’s hard for the products to absorb, so it doesn’t really matter what you’re putting on your face. I think that’s a good tip.
Definitely.
Let’s see what else I use. I’m looking at all my products. I’m standing in my bathroom! I have so many products in here. I like Instytutum. I have a lot of Natura Bissé here. I like primers for the skin to close the pores, so your skin looks really smooth. At night, I use glycolic pads that I order online. You think your face is clean, and then you use that pad and it’s like, “Oh, my God. I have so much stuff on my face!”
I love Neutrogena’s makeup remover. Burt’s Bees makes very nice micellar water wipes. I take off my makeup with Neutrogena, then I use the micellar wipes. I’ve grown very fond of Burt’s Bees. Let’s see, what else? Lisa Rinna has her eye patches now and I use her products. I’m a big fan of Philip B hair care. Makeup-wise, my favorite products are from Benefit to Chanel—I use their powders. I love that Armani foundation—it is so smooth and silky. I love that, and then I set it with Chanel powder. I use Stila eyeliner, Smashbox lip products, Urban Decay for eyeshadows. I have a lot of different products!
That’s a great lineup.
And I forgot to mention one of my favorite products is blotting paper. I love the Shiseido blotting paper. They are great when it’s hot and you need to get the shine down. And you know what my favorite lipstick is? It’s from Maybelline and it’s called the Matte Ink Super Stay. It’s a great product.
You probably know all the great places for facials and massages in New York. Do you have any top ones that you can share?
I used to have a guy who would come to the house and he moved. I need a good place to go. Maybe you can tell me that! There is a company called RingMyBelle that comes to your house for different things and they are great. They are also located in different cities. When I’m in a panic, I call RingMyBelle, and they do a great job of getting me made up and ready to go. For example, I just called them to help me get ready for The Hamptons Film Festival.
That sounds like a great service. What else are you excited about this fall?
Well, I’m going to London next week after Charleston and the show in Montclair, New Jersey. Then, I’m heading to London to promote my Cabaret tour coming in 2025. I have a lot of friends in Europe because I lived in Europe for 12 years, so I love to promote the shows and see them. I love it. People are like, “Aren’t you tired of traveling?” No. Give me an airplane, and a good hotel, I’m thrilled!
