Staying grounded is no easy feat, but Caith Norton has it down to a science. An expert in yoga and meditation and the wellness operations manager at Eleven, Norton knows a thing or two about breathing deep, staying cool and savoring the sweet.

Creative Consumptions

“Embarrassingly, my favorite movies are always rom-coms. When it comes to reading, though, I opt for historical fiction novels for the most part. My favorite artist is JJ Cale. Those are my go-to art and media pleasures!”

Nature Focused

“The emotions I feel in nature are the purest barometer of how I am feeling. I am disheartened by the state of our world right now, but being in nature helps me remember that we are just a blip on the timeline of the universe. ‘If history is an ocean, humanity is a raindrop.’ This is a photo I took when I went to visit family on the East Coast. It invokes a sense of peace and calm and reminds me of my sister who passed away two years ago from brain cancer.”

Sweet Moments

“I have a sweet tooth for sure, so my evening ritual combines my daily indulgence. I get the current book I’m reading, a cup of hot tea and two cookies—sometimes three—and settle in with my dog, Oso, on my reading lounge chair. It’s a way to spend time with my dog, remove myself from screens and wind down from the day.”

Hydration Station

“Every morning, I start with a cool face cloth and no cleanser. I live at 9,000 feet where it’s a constant struggle to keep hydrated, so I only cleanse my face once a day. Next is Tata Harper Floral Essence, Rejuvenating Serum and a layer of the Water Lock Moisturizer followed by an SPF 35 sunscreen. I also love Tata’s Créme Riche Moisturizer.”

Deep Breaths

“Breathwork is the best discovery I’ve made. As a yoga instructor, I’ve been aware of and have been a practitioner of pranayama for 30 years. But in the past few years, I’ve read more scientific research about the function and physiological effects of breathwork, and I started to incorporate it into my normal daily life, as opposed to just utilizing it on the yoga mat.”

Splish Splash

“I love water, so when I have an occasion to celebrate, I’ll seek out some hot springs or an outdoor swimming pool. Luckily enough, there is a wonderful place three hours away in Ouray, Colorado that has both an outdoor lap pool—my all-time favorite—and a number of hot spring pools. A day trip there is my ultimate idea of celebration.”
