Victoria Beckham is delivering the fall hair inspiration we’ve all been waiting for. The 50-year-old fashion icon recently visited celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves for a chic long bob (aka “lob”) styled in soft, tousled waves. And while the cut is stunning, the color is equally deserving of the spotlight. Her perfectly blended balayage hair color transitions from rich brunette roots to honey-blonde ends—and to say we’re obsessed is an understatement.
“MUSING,” Paves captioned his post of the former Spice Girl. “Fresh cut for my mane muse @victoriabeckham Love you x.” Unsurprisingly, fans flocked to the comments section to praise her shorter hairstyle, a striking change from the longer lengths she’s favored in recent years.
Paves even responded to several commenters, including—lucky for us—one curious fan who asked about the styling technique behind those effortlessly tousled waves. “I do the base wave (after zero lift blow dry) with the flat iron,” he told the commenter. “Some twisted flat ends and some S waves and then a few random sections with the curling iron.”
Victoria Beckham’s New Haircut
Beckham’s new haircut looks only slightly different than the one she sneakily debuted earlier this month while in Los Angeles with family. In that photo, her hair appears even shorter, more of a mid-length bob than a long bob. FYI: “The primary difference between a bob and a lob lies in the length,” Matrix celebrity stylist Castillo Bataille told NewBeauty in an article exploring the decision to go for a bob. “A bob typically falls around the jawline or slightly above, creating a chic, classic look. On the other hand, a lob, or long bob, extends to the shoulders or just below, offering a bit more versatility while still maintaining the stylish appeal of a bob.”
Whether you choose a classic bob, a mid-length bob, or a lob this fall, you really can’t go wrong. As for us, we’re ready to take a page out of Beckham’s book—it’s just too good not to copy.
