Lottie Moss, the 26-year-old model and half-sister to Kate Moss, recently opened up about her experience with Ozempic. On her podcast “Dream On,” Lottie shared that her two-week stint using the drug landed her in the hospital.

Lottie revealed that a few months ago, she was not feeling happy with her weight, so a friend procured Ozempic for her. “It was kind of below board. I’m not going to lie,” she admitted. “It was from a doctor, but it wasn’t like you go into a doctor’s office and he prescribes it for you, he takes your blood pressure and takes tests, which is what you need when you go on something like Ozempic.”

After two weeks on the drug, she felt sick and couldn’t keep any food or liquids down, so she went to the hospital. There, a nurse informed her she was taking way too much of the drug for her weight, although it could be argued any amount is too much for someone that weighs around 110 pounds. The nurse sent her to the emergency room, and she ultimately had a seizure from dehydration, which she calls “the scariest thing that’s ever happened to me.”

Lessons Learned

Lottie says taking Ozempic was the worst decision she ever made. She cautions people to avoid the drug, but it’s worth noting that when Ozempic is taken under a doctor’s care and properly used, it can be safe and efficacious for some.

It’s “not really meant for weight loss of people that aren’t of a very large size,” she says. She shared that the amount she was taking “was actually meant for people who are 100 kilos and over, and I’m in the 50s range.” She says, “It’s these small things that I wish I’d known before taking it.”

Lottie hopes sharing her experience can be a lesson to people that Ozempic is “for diabetes, it’s not for weight loss really.” She goes on to say that she understands how prevalent it is in the media right now. “All these celebrities are on it and it’s so hard to look at that, and see these dramatic weight losses, especially for people with eating disorders and problems with eating.”
