Rumer Willis is embracing her postpartum journey with confidence. On Monday, April 22, the 35-year-old actress and singer shared a series of bikini photos to Instagram, hair casually thrown up in a bun, wearing a crinkle bikini top from Hunza G and a zig-zag pattern sarong from Beachwood Baby.
“Leaning in to my mama curves in the jungle 🦜,” she wrote in the caption. “It’s been a journey of continuous curiosity and growth to see how much room and acceptance I can give my body as it continues to shift and transform after birthing a little human. I hope to continue feeling in my loving of myself in all the many shapes and sizes it will come in so I can show my daughter what unconditional self love and acceptance looks like.”
The eldest daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis welcomed her first baby—Louetta Isley Thomas Willis—with boyfriend Derek Richard Thomas in April of last year. Since then, the House Bunny actress and Dancing with the Stars champion has openly detailed her self-love journey with her 1.1 million Instagram followers.
On her 35th birthday, for example, Willis celebrated by posting makeup-free selfies on Instagram. “When you wake up at 35 and look in the mirror and feel beautiful,” she wrote in the caption. “It’s a day to celebrate. Some days I do, and some I don’t, but I want to celebrate the good ones because I want Lou to see me celebrating them, so she can learn to appreciate herself.”
“I feel beautiful in these pictures and I feel like myself without any make up on and I feel more beautiful every day, especially when I look into my daughters face and I see so much of myself and her,” she continued. “It helps me love myself a little bit more every day and that I am endlessly grateful.”
Willis has progressively grown more comfortable opening up to her fans through the years. During an interview with NewBeauty for her 33rd birthday in August 2021, she shared her evolving perspective on beauty. “I think I have a greater appreciation for my skin and my body and I have a ‘less is more’ approach with just about everything,” she said. Her only exception? Oils. “I am loving smelling like an apothecary everywhere I go!” she said.
In the interview, she also credited her mom, Demi, for inspiring her to embrace her natural beauty. Willis says she “was definitely a big reason why I started wearing less makeup and just always taking really good care of my skin.”
Her top skin care advice? Staying hydrated “both inside and out.” She says “drinking enough water has been a game changer for my skin—and if I am out and about, I keep Deep Hydration Aloe Gel Mist from Aloisia Beauty ($22) in my purse.” As for skin care products, she loves the Wonder Valley Oil Cleanser ($65), along with the olive oil-based brand’s Olive & Lotus Exfoliating Powder ($58).
