The Kardashians are frequently embroiled in controversies surrounding photo editing, yet eagle-eyed followers aren’t always accurate in their assumptions. A recent incident involving Khloé Kardashian is a prime example. After posting a bikini-clad Instagram photo, the 39-year-old reality star found herself defending her legs against accusations of poor editing.

“I think the edit didn’t [do] much because both legs are different,” the person commented on the post, seemingly implying that she resized her legs in a photo editing app incorrectly. The Good American cofounder hit back at them head-on. “That’s my legs,” she replied. “I have two different legs. They will be different. And one of them has had 3 knee surgeries but I love them.”

The commenter later retracted their comment. “Got it. I think it’s the angle,” they conceded. “Thank you for clarifying. Much love.”

But that’s not all; Khloé faced additional criticism. Another commenter remarked on her calves: “I love you girl, I do. But all that working out and you haven’t figured out how to build up your calves?” Khloé handled it like a champ, writing, “Ha! I say this all the time. I legit don’t have calves and I jump rope all the time but I’m not pressed about it.”

Khloé has long been subject to public scrutiny over her legs. In 2016, a post-workout mirror selfie of hers went viral amid accusations of photo alterations. Eventually, she removed the photo and addressed the issue on her former website khloewithak.com, shedding light on her decision to edit it.

“Whenever I post a picture of my legs on Instagram, everyone comments on how f—ed up my knees look. It’s because I’ve had reconstructive surgery, you a–holes!” she wrote. “My right leg is an inch and a half thinner than my left because my muscles deteriorated and never recovered.”

The reason I’ve had so many of these surgeries – and always wear a knee brace for my workouts – is because I was in a car accident when I was 16,” she continued. “To this day, I remember the exact streets (Ventura Blvd. and Coldwater Canyon). I was wearing my seatbelt but the strap was under my armpit. I was in a small Mercedes and it compacted in the wreck. My head and upper body went through the windshield and my legs were stuck under the steering wheel.

I still remember hitting the other car, feeling the car spinning, and hitting a pole,” she added. “I had knee surgery the day of my accident and a couple more after that. Lord, help me! So next time you see me in a knee brace, you know why!”
